The first flamingos made their appearance in the waters of Kerkini. Like every year in the second half of July the first groups appear and give a feeling that another Autumn is coming.
They will stay with us all Winter, they will number a few thousand on cold days and somewhere in the middle of March they will leave the area giving way to the breeding species of Spring.
During each of your stays at Kerkini Houses we can organize a boat tour for you so that you can admire them up close.
